What we welcome

Pitch an original article that explains a custom, compares different ways an occasion is marked, traces how a practice has changed, or helps readers notice the meaning carried by a familiar ritual. We value precise subjects, careful cultural framing and prose for a general audience.

A strong proposal

Tell us the central question, why it matters to readers, the shape of the piece and what material or sources would support it. Explain whose perspectives are relevant and how you will handle variation, uncertainty or contested accounts. Please do not send a complete draft unless requested.
